In an effort to promote work life balance for our employees, the University has provided the following various programs to help employees toward this endeavor. It is the supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that the job and business-related needs will be met with the alternative work schedule/work site arrangement and seek HR’s approval before starting the program.

It is important to note that not all positions are suited for alternative work site/work schedule options. You should review the attached policies and procedures to learn of the specific requirements and appropriate forms that must be completed before an employee’s work schedule/work site is altered. The programs are as follows:

Alternative Work Site Allows employees to work from an alternative location
Compressed Work Schedule Allows an employee to work their assigned number of hours in fewer than 5 days in one week or 10 days in one pay period
Flexible Work Schedule Flextime may occur up to 2 hours before and 2 hours after the employee's regular schedule

It is also important to note that once these programs are implemented, the alternative arrangement may be terminated at any time based on the business needs of the department and University.
