Responsibilities:
Ensure University's compliance with applicable Federal/State/Local laws, and provide interpretation for the Collective Bargaining Agreements and University policies. Evaluate the effectiveness of the University policies and bargaining agreements in relation to the University's strategic objectives and initiatives. Oversee all aspects of the Employee & Labor Relations functions. Our goal is to ensure we are providing sound and effective guidance to our employees and/or supervisors in all employee relation matters that will ultimately increase job productivity, engage employees, improve job performance, and reduce turnover. Provide confidential support to management and staff in all employee relation matters.

Responsibilities:
Provide advice to supervisors and managers regarding the interpretation and implementation of the policies and procedures and the handling of employee relation matters. Review complaints/ grievances and disciplinary actions, including separation of employment and facilitates in reaching solutions. Serve as mediator between staff and administrators to facilitate resolutions which may address the concern of either party. Advocate and communicate to supervisors the concept of practicing sound and consistent methods in all ELR related matters to increase job productivity, engage employees, improve job performance, and reduce turnover. Assists in the administration and ensures compliance of applicable Federal/State/Local laws, Collective Bargaining Agreements and University Policies and Procedures. Serve as liaison between the University and the Union(s). Oversee the Separation and Exit Review Process, Nepotism Process for current employees, and the Flexible Work Programs. Review and administer the layoff process. Serve as Emergency Management Group Alternate. Identify and recommend workshops of interest as necessary.
