The Division of Human Resources develops strategies, programs, and incentives to support the university’s mission and therefore, has developed a compensation philosophy with two primary objectives:

1.     Attract and recruit a talented, diverse workforce;
2.     Reward and retain employees for their outstanding contributions to the University.
In order to meet these objectives, the Compensation Administration department establishes and maintains target salaries levels taking into account the following: related job experience, educational background, comparable market data, internal salary equity, available resources, and Federal Wage and Hour Laws. The University compensates all employees on an equitable basis without regard to race, color, sex, national origin, disability, marital status, political opinions or affiliations, Vietnam or disabled veteran status, sexual orientation or age, except as provided by law.
These Compensation and Position Guidelines also outline the definitions used to administer the compensation program as a basis for pay decisions for Administrative and Staff positions.
